FAQ

Q:What makes Feiyin CNC different from other CNC machining shops?

A:

Feiyin CNC is built on self-developed 5-axis gantry machining centers designed and manufactured in-house by our parent company, Ningqing Air & Space Intelligent Equipment. Unlike most CNC shops that purchase machines from third-party builders, our vertical integration gives us deep engineering insight into the machine's kinematics, thermal behavior, and dynamic performance — translating into tighter tolerances, better surface finish, and higher first-pass yields on large-format aerospace parts.

Q:What is the Xometry Premium Partner Program, and what does it mean for me?

A:

Xometry is the world's leading on-demand manufacturing marketplace, serving global enterprises including Boeing, GE, and NASA prime contractors. The Premium Partner status (ID: PR-93763) is awarded only to manufacturers that pass Xometry's rigorous factory audit covering equipment, quality processes, and production capability. For buyers, this means Feiyin CNC has been independently verified as a trusted aerospace manufacturing supplier — eliminating months of supplier qualification work.

Q:Which quality certifications does Feiyin CNC hold?

A:

Feiyin CNC is certified to AS9100D (aerospace quality management) and ISO 9001:2015. We comply with RoHS and REACH regulations and can provide conflict minerals reporting and IMDS material data sheets. Our quality system is independently audited annually.

Q:What are your maximum part size and tolerance capabilities?

A:

Our largest machining envelope is 10,000 x 3,500 x 1,500 mm (10m gantry machine). Standard positioning accuracy is ±0.01mm; repeatability on critical features is ±0.005mm. Surface finish capability is Ra 0.8 min, with polished options for optical and fluid-control applications. These specs are verified by CMM on every critical part.

Q:What materials can you machine?

A:

We machine aerospace-grade aluminum alloys (2xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx series), titanium (Ti-6Al-4V and variants), stainless steel (303, 304, 316L), Inconel (718, 625), and other high-performance alloys. Our process engineering team has extensive experience with the specific challenges of machining aerospace titanium and ultra-thin-wall aluminum structures.

Q:Do you support prototype and small-batch orders?

A:

Yes. We actively support prototype and low-volume production — batch sizes of 1 piece are welcome. Every drawing receives a free DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review within 48 hours, helping optimize designs before production begins. This is particularly valuable for R&D teams on new aerospace or EV programs.

Q:What is your typical lead time?

A:

Lead time ranges from 2 to 6 weeks depending on part complexity, material availability, and production volume. Prototype orders (1-10 pcs) typically ship in 2-3 weeks. We provide firm delivery dates with every quotation. Our on-time delivery rate is ≥98%.

Q:What file formats do you accept for quotes and production?

A:

We accept STEP (.stp/.step), IGES (.igs), PDF drawings, and DWG files for quotation. STEP is preferred for complex geometry. Upload files through our RFQ form or email our engineering team directly.

Q:What documentation is included with each shipment?

A:

Every shipment includes: Certificate of Conformance (CoC), raw material certificates, CMM dimensional report, and AS9102 FAI report for aerospace parts. PPAP packages (up to Level 3), IMDS sheets, and custom documentation are available on request.

Q:Can you machine parts to our unique custom specifications?

A:

Yes. Custom part programs are our core strength. Share your drawing and we'll conduct a DFM review to assess manufacturability, identify potential issues, and provide a quotation. We specialize in complex geometry, tight tolerances, and difficult materials — challenges that define our day-to-day work.
